couldn't appear on the commemorative plaque," Clare adds, "but we sneaked it onto the curtains used to unveil the plaque and obtained national TV coverage!"

Prison First

One of the many highlights of Clare Communications work for Bovis saw Clare behind prison bars! That's because the agency carried out the PR for Bovis' refurbishment of the remand wings at Strangeways prison following the riots in the 90's. The centrepiece for the campaign was a hospitality event, playing host to Home Offi ce Minister of the time, Dame Angela Rumbold, to celebrate completion of the new remand wing.

"Plenty of people thought we'd never pull it off," says Clare, "but grit and determination paid dividends! We secured all the necessary permissions and were even able to have press shots taken inside the prison. To the best of my knowledge the event is still the only press conference ever held inside a British prison."

Not only was the event well-attended, but the Clare Communications team made sure the Bovis logo was everywhere the guests looked.
